Bio
I am a freelance architectural and graphic designer in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to receiving my Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arkansas, I studied architectural design in both Copenhagen and Rome, and worked for architectural practices in Dubai, Kuwait, Arkansas, and New York. I began architecture school with the intention of pursuing film in my post-graduate studies. However, I swiftly got caught up in architectural theories and turned an analytical eye on the world. Recently, in light of the bleak economic outlook, I have resumed pursuing my passion for film and the fantastical celluloid environment. Aside from periodically taking time out to blog about being an unemployed recent grad in the city, I am currently working with the Archiculture team as a Graphic Assistant to help develop interesting and creative ways to market the film.
My fascination with the human condition compels me to observe and absorb a wide range of ideas. Spaces that exhibit human interaction and contemplation are where I derive my passion for architecture, and analysis through my hands, in drawing and model, better connect me to this idea. I find myself particularly attracted to the connection between urban space and spectacle. In the future, I plan to focus my graduate studies drawing from theater design, set design, urban design, camps, festivals, and exhibition spaces to explore an architecture poised to continually respond to an ever changing state.
